Cryptosporidium spp. is a coccidia responsible for causing clinical and subclinical infections. Particularly, cats represent one of the most common pets in Brazil. The role of pets, especially dogs and cats, is fundamental to bring benefit human health. However, these pets can be particular sources of infection for people. Studies already confirmed that the cat can be a protozoan host with zoonotic potential, such as the Cryptosporidium spp.
