Resumen
In the current historical moment, given the accelerated changes in urban and rural landscapes, the dynamics of society are interrelate with the dynamics of nature, the environmental issue, where are included the studies about soils, assumes importance in several fields of knowledge, especially, Geography. Therefore, this assignment aimed to characterize the soils in parts of Maraba Paulista-SP and Presidente Epitacio-SP and relate them to the main compartments of the relief (tops, slopes and valley floors) and land uses. Based on theoretical framework and fieldwork, associated with observation points, characterization of four soil profiles (Profiles 1, 2, 3 and 4) and elaboration of simplified outline of the main soil classes in scale 1:50.000, it was possible to identify developed soils (Latosols association), shallow to developed soils (Argisols association), shallow soils (Neosols association) and hydromorphic soils (Planosols and Gleysols association). Finally, it is important to emphasize the studies about soils in Extremo Oeste Paulista region, which may subsidize future researches, for example, vulnerability or fragility to erosion, fertility and contamination of soils. Therefore, the soil aspects are constituents and interact with the other phenomena in geographical space.
