Resumen
As a response to the challenges that today´s enterprises face, growing interest has recently emerged on wisdom as a part of the strategic organizational context. This documentary study aimed to understand the ways in which wisdom is manifested in the organizational context according to the theories of Sternberg, Staudinger and Baltes. 29 documents were examined and their analysis was mainly focused on identifying 3 categories: age, components or facilitators and levels of wisdom. When contrasting the theories with the different categories, the following results came out: 1) chronological age is not a determinant factor in considering someone wise or not; however, it does appear as a necessary aspect. 2) among the components and facilitators one can find: excellent judgment, vision, intelligence and creativity along with character and ability to make decisions and strategic planning. 3) with respect to the levels category, there were found: types of fallacies in which managers can fall, types of managers (wise being one of them) and different levels of knowledge (some of them related to wisdom, others simply wise). In conclusion, wisdom is considered in most cases as the peak of human development, whether it is on the personal or the organizational context.
