Estrategia de seguridad y defensa nacional comparada: perspectivas de Colombia y Brasil frente al Amazonas 2002-2010

This research is made from a qualitative analysis of two different processes of the Amazon’s strategic projection based on the case study of Brazil and Colombia; in order to differentiate the approaches under which these states decided to channel their security and defense policy. The time period analyzed corresponds to the two governments of Alvaro Uribe Velez (2002 – 2010), with his Defense and Democratic Security policy in Colombia, and the two governments of Luis Inacio Da Silva (2003 – 2010) with the National Defense Strategy in Brazil. The aforementioned, taking into account that during these presidential periods a different governmental idea regarding security was developed in both countries.
