Resumen
This work was basic earnings determine the correlation of clinical diagnosis criteria of Gibbs and the Gold standard is the pathology in patients with chorioamnionitis in order to establish if the diagnosis was done properly and what are the criteria most relevant to your diagnosis.
This research was conducted as follows:
1. We identified patients admitted to the emergency room or the service of gynecology at St. Raphael"s Hospital with a diagnosis of chorioamnionitis (taking into account the criteria of Gibbs), patients who developed the entity during labor or to which they are made diagnosis during the same birth
established the Gibbs criteria for each part of the clinical diagnosis of chorioamnionitis
2. reviewed the pathologic placentas performed at completion of the labor process either vaginally or by cesarean section and a study of association between the pathological result of chorioamnionitis and clinical diagnosis.
This research established the clinical diagnosis was correlated with pathology in 54% of cases
1. Association criteria for pathological diagnosis Gibbs, finding that individual criteria associated with definitive diagnosis of chorioamnionitis were: maternal tachycardia OR (8.53), fetal tachycardia, OR (7.7), and leukocytosis OR (2.86), vaginal discharge and foul uterine tenderness were less significant with ORs of 1.24 and 1.1 respectively. and
In the logistic regression found that the Gibbs criteria were statistically significant for maternal tachycardia where OR (7.29), fetal tachycardia OR (4.107), uterine tenderness OR (2.96), leukocytosis, OR (4.93) and vaginal discharge OR (2.65)
