The aim of this study is to describe the results of different tests of liver function and the associations are stored with exposure to flight hours of pilots Methods: A revision of 1716 medical records for annual medical control of this population, between June first of 2010 and June first 2011, checking the levels of transaminases, bilirrubins, age, flight time and medical history was performed. Results: Anomalies in all the liver function tests available for the studio (AST, ALT, Bilirrubins) were found; a statistic significantly relationship between flight time and anomalies in transaminases was found. Discussion: There are not specific studies about these anomalies, not in the military or commercial field, but is known that exposure to hydrocarbons vapors, hepatotoxic drugs intake and alcohol, experience viral or heart diseases, primary or metastatic liver neoplasms, metabolic syndrome as well, between much more pathologies, alter the liver function. Conclusions: There is association between the flight time and upraise in AST and ALT. To establish a specific relationship the application of follow-up studies and incorporation of other factors that alters the liver function test are needed.
