Resumen
This paper begins with the definition and explanation of some of the basic concepts of major importance for the familiarization with this work. Then we built three pillars that support the idea of a morally responsible action. We begin with the recognition of ethical and philosophical contributions from the sixteenth century to today. Next, we examine the economic and the ethical aspect where we find evidence of a lack of moral commitment of the economic actors and found evidence supporting the new world economic order. Finally we evaluate the behaviour that should be always present in any business. We analyze the activities that should guide the way of making business, where we must find a middle point where the company is socially responsible and able to increase the financial benefits. Having to rely on these three pillars we designed a social responsibility model in which firms must be seen as an economic family. With this we try to focus on the redefinition of the social contract in which companies can see the stakeholders and the environment in the same way a responsible father sees his children and family. We wanted to see initially a broad overview about the critical point where we are today. We are looking for a general awareness in the understanding that social welfare and environmental interest is good for everyone, because it improves the quality of life and enhance business performance throughout the world.
