Resumen
Since the implementation of the term "BRIC" by Goldman Sachs, Brazil, Russia, India, China and later South Africa have deepened their relations and have promoted a speech
in favor of the reform of the institutions of global governance to adapt them to the reality of the new millenium. However, this speech has been accompanied by practices and interests that are in opposotion with it, because the more influence the members of the BRICS have, the more competition there is between them, as well as a clash of interests. In consequence, it is possible to observe that the BRICS, rather than favoring the creation of an international forum for the legitimation of rules, has been instrumentalized by its members in order to achieve particular goals. Because of this, the possibility that these States legitime the rules that their speech promotes is undermined by their interactions.
