El genocidio de la U.P: una reflexión sobre el concepto de oposición en los textos escolares de bachillerato

Abstract

This research sought to analyze how the concept of opposition has been addressed through the genocide of the Patriotic Union (U.P.) in secondary school textbooks as a means of constructing civic identity. To this end, social science textbooks were examined. The above-mentioned analysis sought to correlate school textbooks with democracy and education in democratic values. In this way, the significance of reconstructing the historical memory of issues of national interest, like the genocide of the Patriotic Union, is highlighted. This research also emphasizes the importance of school textbooks and education in general in the formative process of citizens in a democratic regime.
