Resumen
The purpose of this case study is to understand and explain the appropriation of urban public space not only as a daily link between the territory and its citizens, but also as a dialectical process that generates meaning, identity and belonging. In this sense, the forms of nocturnal appropriation of the “Parque de los Hippies” or “Hippie Park” are analyzed from a population sample aged 18 to 28 years, in light of Tomeur Vidal’s and Enric Pol’s parameters. This demonstrates that, from a daily approach to the urban reality that recognizes the historical, social, cultural, and economic significance of the territories, as well as the dynamics of coexistence and conflicts that arise in these spaces, it is possible from the point of view of management and urban development, to produce recommendations that mobilize actions which highlight and preserve the multidimensional urban values of the place; strengthen some forms of appropriation and promote coexistence among different forms and their actors.
