Papel de la comunidad internacional en la resocialización de niños soldados desvinculados del ejército de resistencia del señor en Uganda (2002-2013)

Abstract

The objective of this diagnostic research project is to evaluate the international community’s actions in terms of resocialization of demobilized child soldiers of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in Uganda, during the period from 2002 to 2013. For this, the causes of the existence of child soldiers, the evolution of the concept of childhood and the particularities that this represents in the African context are taken into consideration. The scope of humanitarian assistance models used for child protection in Uganda are also analyzed, emphasizing the reintegration processes provided to these demobilized children. From this analysis, the performance limitations of the International Community are determined and a number of recommendations for the execution of reintegration programs focused on children are provided.
