Abstract

The work involves the individual in a series of physiological efforts involving the use of components of the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular and metabolic, thus defining the physical work load. The objective was to determine the physiological response to exposure to heat and physical load on workers coke oven operators. The study was conducted in eleven workers exposed to heat and physical load of coke ovens. The measurement was carried maximum work capacity (VO2max), measurement of caloric intake and cardiovascular response to the heat load and measuring hydration levels.
