Introduction: Möbius and Möbius like syndromes are rare entities characterized sixth and seventh nerve paralysis. The ethiology is barely known, but it is associated with abortive inducers. The purpose of this study is to describe abnormal, toxic or harmful factors that were present in pregnancy of mothers of these patients. Methods: 15 mothers of patients with the diagnosis completed a self-assesment survey, about abnormal conditions and/or expositions during pregnancy, about the father and the environment. Results: Mothers age ranged between 16 and 34 years at the time of pregnanxy, most of them where single students, and none had planed their pregnancy. Eleven mothers used at least one medication and/or substance during pregnancy. Six used Misoprostol, corresponding to 40%. The other substances used included: alternatives to misoprostol, tobacco, alcohol, ibuprofen, contraceptives and others. As abnormalities during pregnancy, bleeding and/or abortion risk, infection, chemical exposition and maternal sickness were reported. The paternal conditions described included: alcoholism, drug abuse, sickness, and age 40, in a small percentage. Conclusion: Möbius and Möbius like syndromes are rare pathologies that need more investigation in terms of ethiology, to take prevention actions.
