Resiliencia y engagement en trabajadores de una unidad de cuidado intensivo

Abstract

Resilience and engagement are mental states that allow you to have a high capacity to overcome stressful situations, to be strengthened, to commit and to devote more to your work. This research analyzes the relationship between these mental states in the care staff of an intensive care unit (ICU). It is a quantitative, transectional, descriptive-correlational study with a sample of 66 workers from a hospital in Cundinamarca, Colombia, who completed the Wagnild and Young Resilience Scale, the UWHE, and a sociodemographic. A high overall average of Engagement and Resilience was identified, a positive association between the personal competence factor -Resilience- and vigor dimension -Engagement-; Significant differences due to sociodemographic aspects in the competences self-confidence and life with purpose -Resilience- and the absorption dimension -Engagement-; As well as greater Engagement in questionnaire neonatal ICU and obstetric risk workers.
