Caracterización de las conductas sedentarias y factores sociodemográficos y antropométricos a través de la aplicación del cuestionario SBQ (Sedentary Behaviour Questionnaire) en estudiantes de la Universidad CES 2018

The purpose of this study was to calculate the accumulated time in week and weekend of sedentary behaviors in relation to the sociodemographic and anthropometric factors of the students of the CES, Medellín University. Participants were 278 students selected at convenience in the first semester of 2018. The variables were sociodemographic, anthropometric and sedentary behavior, measured through 2 instruments (SBQ and survey designed by the researcher). We found a population of students with a median age of 19 years (Q1: 18, Q3: 20), with a median of 12 hours (Q1: 9.25; Q3: 15) in week and 12.75 hours (Q1: 10.25; P3: 16.5) on weekends a day in sedentary behavior. In addition to a relationship between accumulated time watching television in week and weekend with weight, BMI and waist circumference with p <0.05 and that men accumulate more hours in sedentary behavior than women.
