Nuevo pop chileno : el sonido de una generación en llamas

Abstract

During the 80's, a young and rebel musical movement jumped on stage and mocked in the face of the dictator Augusto Pinochet. Rock, Punk and New Wave resounded during the regime and were the sound of a new counterculture. A part of the youth inserted in the middle class, raised in dictatorship and influenced by foreign artists who watched on television, listened on the radio, were in weekly newspapers and knew by voice to voice,decided to form their own musical movement and escape the dictatorship in the only way they could: art.
