The Intermediary Role of Psychological Assessment and The Position of Symptom Carrier on the Family Dynamics

Abstract

Psychodiagnostics is a brief assessment, based on a set of instruments, which can help obtain various forms of understanding, depending on the orientation of the epistemological and theoretical work. The aim of this investigation is to understand the psychodynamics of the symptom carrier in a family during the psychodiagnostic process. It consists in two case studies, based on a document analysis of psychodiagnostic processes, interpreted in the light of the theory of Psychoanalysis of bond configurations. The results suggest that the symptom carrier also plays an intermediary role between the indicated patient and the family, producing a therapeutic effect and creating the demand for the most appropriate treatment. Likewise, it was possible to observe that the indicated patient also play an intermediate role among the different dimensions of subjectivity of the family

O psicodiagnóstico é uma técnica de avaliação breve, realizada a partir de um conjunto de instrumentos, através dos quais se obtém diversas formas de compreensão, dependendo da orientação teórica do profissional. O objetivo desta pesquisa é compreender como se apresenta no psicodiagnóstico a psicodinâmica entre a criança porta-sintoma e a família. Realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa por meio de estudo de casos, a partir da análise documental de processos psicodiagnósticos, interpretados à luz da Psicanálise Vincular. Os resultados sugerem que o psicodiagnóstico pode desempenhar uma função intermediária entre paciente e família, produzindo efeito terapêutico e auxiliando a criação da demanda de tratamento. Também se observou a função intermediária que a criança exerce entre as diferentes dimensões de subjetivação da família.
