Resumen
Russia underwent great changes after the disintegration of the USSR in 1991. However, with the arrival of Vladimir Putin, Russia's geostrategic interests in the former Soviet Union revived with a new impetus due to a greater amount of resources available to the State. The Republic of Moldova is a clear example of the resurgence of Russian Foreign Policy towards the former Soviet Union states, being even a key region in the struggle of the Russian Federation to regain its zone of influence.
