Análisis de los factores que han dificultado la incursión de Colombia en la región de Asia pacífico y el posible aprovechamiento de los mecanismos de integración regional alternativos a APEC para incursionar en la región de Asia Pacífico

Abstract

The objective of this diagnostic research is to analyze the factors that have hindered the entry of Colombia in the Asia pacific region. Thus we sought to explain how the lack of consensus to increase the number of member of the regional block APEC has been the main reason why the country has been faced with a delay to achieve that objective. Likewise, there is an analysis of the Colombian foreign policy guidelines and how the design of it, is influenced by the interests of U.S. foreign policy. On the other hand, we analyzed how the minimum Colombian institutional deployment in the Asian region has led to a major setback to deepen multilateral relations with Asia. Finally it was verify how Colombia could explore regional integration mechanisms alternative to APEC to move into the region, such as the Pacific Alliance block.
