Percentiles de flexibilidad en escolares de Bogotá, D.C. : análisis secundario del estudio FUPRECOL

To determine flexibility centile values for boys and girls from 9 to 17 years of age in Bogotá, D.C., Colombia. Cross-sectional study in 7780 school children and adolescents from 9 to 17.9 years old. Sampling for convenience in 24 public schools in Bogotá D.C. Flexibility measured with the Sit-and-Reach Test. Secondary analysis of the FUPRECOL Study.Normative values are established by age and sex, expressed in percentiles P3, P10, P25, P50, P75, P90 and P97. Women present slightly higher performance at all ages than men. In childhood, better results are found in the first percentiles; however, it is in adolescence when the greatest increases between percentiles are recorded. Average flexibility for men 20.2 cm and 22.6 cm for women. These results provide the first reference values in flexibility for age and sex for schoolchildren in Bogotá, D.C. Colombia, as a useful tool for the determination of the musculoskeletal health condition and in conjunction with other indicators of the general health condition.
