Resumen
Introduction: Chronic kidney disease is an independent cardiovascular risk factor and coronary heart disease is a predictor of mortality in the dialysis population.
Materials and methods: Historical cohort of patients older than 18 years, incidents in dialysis between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2015, with follow-up until June 30, 2017; in 51 renal units of the Renal Therapy Services (RTS) Colombia network. The incidence density rate was calculated, the time to the ischemic cardiovascular event was estimated and the survival curves were compared according to subgroups of patients.
Results: 2476 patients were evaluated, 1462 (59.01%) were men, the mean age was 60.6 years (SD = 15.5) The 2476 patients contributed 4466 years of follow-up and 179 ischemic cardiovascular events, this represents a rate of 0.040 events per patient-year (95% CI: 0.034-0.046) or what is equal to 4 events per 100 patient-years.We found a significant difference when comparing survival functions by diabetes condition and age greater than or equal to 65 years.
Discussion: The results are comparable with the high cost account of Colombia, significant differences were found regarding risk factors diabetes, advanced age, hyperphosphatemia and a protective effect of albumin.
