La piratería marítima en las dinámicas de seguridad de la asociación de naciones del sudeste asiático-ASEAN (1995-2010)

Abstract

The present monography´s main purpose is to explain how the maritime piracy in Southeast Asia influences the creation of a regional security complex by the ASEAN. Is in this way that pretends to identify and describe the measures taken by this organization as the ARF, AMMTC, the ReCAAP statements, among others, as mechanisms to counter this problem. It also aims to demonstrate the security process within this organization, the essential structure of the complex and its evolution in the studied period. Thus this inquiry is developed based on the theory of regional security complexes, developed by Barry Buzan. The research is of a qualitative matter, and its main methodology is a primary and secondary work file that demonstrate the relationship between the variables.
