Resumen
This paper aimed to diagnose feeding practices of interest in nutrition and public health and perception of household food security in the town of Pacho Cundinamarca department, information which enabled descriptive analysis of the frequency of consumption of food groups and safety qualification in access to food. This was developed by adapting two of the five structured national survey of nutritional status in Colombia of 2010 led by the ministry of social protection forms; surveys were conducted with 400 people householder according to stratified random sampling. The study showed that there is total food insecure by 34.7%, including a perception of insecurity by 3% of the families surveyed. Finally, this study showed the importance of strengthening existing government programs, in order to allow favoring food security and nutrition and changing eating habits from an intersectoral perspective where social, cultural, and economic factors are included the ecological oriented transcendental healthy life styles to prevent and reduce the risk of chronic non-communicable diseases community.
