Resumen
This study aimed to analyze the concepts, attitudes and practices of a group of health professionals, before the voluntary interruption of pregnancy and identify the main barriers in relation to the request of this medical procedure. A qualitative cross-sectional study was carried out through a documentary exploration and the analysis of ten semi-structured interviews with health professionals, specialists in gynecology and obstetrics. The results indicate that the voluntary interruption of pregnancy is linked to ethical, moral and religious aspects that influence the decision to practice this medical procedure, despite being conceived as a fundamental right. Added to this, there is ignorance of the legal elements and a conception that this practice constitutes an exit to adolescent pregnancies. These aspects configure access barriers of a cultural, personal and structural nature.
