Resumen
Objective . To strengthen prevention strategies comprehensively, is to characterize the accident occurred in a company of the hydrocarbon sector and identify potential risk factors associated with these events.
Methodology: A retrospective descriptive study was conducted using the databases and SIGA AUDICOMP period July- 2010 to June - 2013 , which store information on workplace accidents linked to Petrobras , Colombia workers. Our outcome variable was the number of accidents in terms of work experience and recruitment time in the business, stratified by , post held own anatomical area injured and demographic characteristics. A continuous variables were calculating measures of central tendency and dispersion and categorical proportion; was estimated odds ratio (OR ) of having an accident in <1 or 1-5 years contract .
Results: ( 36.8 , 95% CI 32.4-41.2 ) 457 accidents, 96 % (95% CI 94.2-97.8 ) were men , the decade between 25-34 years were presented and the type of office workers were the most frequent (35.3 % , 95 % 30.9-39.6 ) . Being labor (95% CI 2.11 to 2.65 ) and having work experience less than one year ( 95% CI 1.78 to 2.33 ) were the main factors associated with an accident in <1 year of employment , the model greater AUC was males 18-24 years old, hired to work as a laborer and less than one year of work experience (AUC 0.973 , 95% CI 0.865 to 0.995 ) .
Conclusions . Men 18-24 years old, hired to work as a laborer and less than one year of work experience, had higher risk of an accident in less than a year from recruitment . The proposed model helped identify workers with high probability of an accident in <1 year from recruitment .
