| dc.description | RESUMEN: Los estudios realizados sobre foraminíferos en el golfo de Cariaco son escasos; sin embargo, el número degéneros y especies registrados en esos trabajos es notable. Basándose en la bibliografía existente se hizo una revisión delconocimiento que se posee de este importante grupo en fondos del mencionado golfo. Los resultados muestran que se hanregistrado 115 géneros y 249 especies de las cuales diez no fueron identificadas plenamente, con lo cual se constituye en elgrupo con mayor número de táxones citados en dicho golfo. ABSTRACT: Despite the scant number of studies on foraminifera in the Gulf of Cariaco, the record of foraminiferalgenera and species is remarkable. A review of the existing knowledge of this important group in the gulf was undertaken basedon the available literature. Results show that it is the group with the highest number of taxa cited in the gulf, with 115 generaand 249 species, 10 of the latter not having been fully identified. | |
