| dc.description | RESUMEN: Con base a colectas intensivas, se realizó un estudio de los moluscos asociados a la pepitona Arca zebra en
el banco de Chacopata estado Sucre, Venezuela. Se colectaron un total de 713 organismos pertenecientes a 53
especies (36 gasterópodos, 14 bivalvos, 2 poliplacóforos y 1 cefalópodo). Dentro de los gasterópodos las familias
con mayor número de especies fueron Columbellidae y Marginellidae (4) y en los bivalvos Mytilidae (3). Los
parámetros de diversidad especifi ca total, excluyendo a Arca zebra, fueron: H´ = 4,63; J´ = 0,81; N1 = 24,90; N2=
19,93; α= 13,23. La elevada diversidad de especies en la zona se explica por la alta productividad de Arca zebra,
la concentración de variados biotopos y factores biogeográfi cos particulares de la región. ABSTRACT: Based on intensive collecting, a study of molluscan species associated with the bivalve Arca zebra in the
Chacopata Bank, Sucre state, Venezuela, was performed. A total of 713 individuals belonging to 53 species
were collected (36 gastropods, 14 bivalves, 2 polyplacophorans and 1 cephalopod). The families with the highest
number of species in gastropods were Marginellidae and Columbellidae (4) and in bivalves Mytilidae (3). Diversity
parameters, excluding Arca zebra, were: H(S) = 4.63; E= 0.81; N1 =24.90; N2= 19.93; α= 13.23. The high number of
species occurring in this area can be explained by the great productivity of Arca zebra, the availability of different
