| dc.description | En este artículo hacemos un recorrido para diferenciar los propósitos y enfoques del quehacer de las escuelas de antropología noratlántica con las intenciones y deber ser de las que denominamos escuelas de antropologías del sur, que consideramos se encuentran en plena conformación de sus teorizaciones. El compromiso social, la reescritura de nuestra historia, la decolonización del pensamiento, la superación de la vergüenza cultural y la aplicabilidad social de nuestras investigaciones permiten construir otra lógica científica que procura superar los canales epistémicos de los países hegemónicos. | |

| dc.description | This paper has the intention to diff erentiate between the propositions and focuses of North Atlantic Anthropology from those designated as Southern Anthropology, as laid out in their respective canons. The re-writing of history, the de-colonisation of thought, the overcoming of cultural shame and the development of methods to be applied to the Southern way of thinking are all aspects of a continuing commitment. Th e objective is the development of a new construct entailing the re-assessment of terms current in the discipline. By these means an epistemology is developing to further the insights obtained by the Southern paradigm, in the face of the conservative epistemology retained by those who adhere to the North Atlantic paradigm. | |
