dc.descriptionLos aportes de los afrodescendientes a la Historia1 de Venezuela, a través del Negro Miguel 1553-1650. El estudio responde metodológicamente a una Investigación Documental, cuyo objetivo es: el poco conocimiento que se tiene de los aportes de los afrodescendientes a la cultura venezolana. El método que guió el estudio es la historia social. Se consideró la revisión de fuentes documentales, bibliográficas, hemerográficas e iconográficas, así como fuentes orales, entre otros; con la finalidad de aportar nuevos conocimientos, que contribuyan a la comprensión y valoración del legado africano y sus descendientes, en la conformación de la cultura venezolana cónsona con la realidad del estudiante y la enseñanza de la Historia de Venezuela.

The study methodologically answered documentary research, which aims to: the little knowledge we have of the contributions of people of African descent to the Venezuelan culture. The method that guided the study of social history. review of documentary, bibliographic, hemerographic and iconographic sources and oral sources was considered, among others; in order to generate new knowledge, contributing to the understanding and appreciation of African heritage and their descendants, in shaping the Venezuelan culture in harmony with the reality of student and teaching the history of Venezuela .
