| dc.description | Tras la reciente muerte del historiador Eric Hobsbawm, es pertinente hacer una revisión de su obra historiográfica, sus aportes a la historia y al entendimiento de nuestra realidad. Así, nuestro objetivo es abordar la manera en que analizó y explicó el fenómeno de los nacionalismos y la creación de las naciones desde su ideología marxista. ¿Qué aportes teóricos dejó sobre el tema? ¿Cómo influyó su ideología marxista para analizar el nacionalismo? ¿Cuál es la aplicabilidad que tiene su análisis del nacionalismo para el caso latinoamericano? Estas son las preguntas ejes sobre las cuáles desarrollamos este trabajo, con el fin de promover el debate desde una perspectiva crítica sobre los escritos del historiador británico. | |

| dc.description | Following the recent death of historian Eric Hobsbawm, it is pertinent to a review of his historiographical work, his contributions to the history and understanding of our reality. Thus, our objective is to address how analyzed and explained the phenomenon of nationalism and the creation of nations from its Marxist ideology. What made theoretical contributions on the subject? How it influenced his Marxist ideology to analyze nationalism? What is the applicability analysis of nationalism has for the Latin American case? These are questions on which axes develop this work, in order to generate debate from a critical perspective on the writings of the British historian. | |
