dc.descriptionLa pared de la antera madura de Cestrum bigibbosum presenta una epidermis papilosa y una capa de endotecio. El patrón de desarrollo de la pared de la antera es del tipo dicotiledóneo, con divisiones periclinales en algunas zonas de la capa media. El endotecio presenta engrosamientos reticulados, con mayor ramificación hacia la parte media de la célula. El tapete es del tipo secretor, con algunas células binucleadas y degenera en el estado de microsporas libres. La división de las células madre de las microsporas es simultánea con formación centrípeta de la pared celular, dando lugar a una tétrada de microsporas tetraédrica. Los granos de polen son liberados en estado bicelular. Se discute el significado taxonómico de las características del gametofito masculino para la especie.

dc.descriptionThe mature anther wall of Cestrum bigibbosum consist of a papillae epidermis and one layer of endothecium. The development of the anther wall retrieves the dicotyledoneous type, showing periclinal division in some zones of the middle layer. The endothecium shows a reticulate pattern of thickening, with more branches in the central region of the cell. The tapetum is secretory and degenerates at the free microspore stage. Microspore tetrads are tetrahedral and the pollen grain is two-celled at the shedding stage. Taxonomic significance of male gametophyte is discussed.
