Este artículo tiene como propósito presentar para la reflexión y discusión, parte de los resultados de una investigación documental realizada en torno al paradigma positivista de investigación en las ciencias sociales, sus principales características, sus aspectos ontológicos, epistemológicos y metodológicos, así como las críticas que a comienzos del siglo XX surgieron en contra de esta perspectiva, a partir de los escritos de los investigadores sociales Wilhelm Dilthey y Max Weber. En este sentido, mostraremos los esfuerzos realizados por ambos autores para elaborar un método más adecuado para el estudio de la sociedad, conocido como hermenéutica, que a lo largo del siglo XX consiguió un gran número de seguidores en las distintas disciplinas sociales, fundamentalmente en la sociología, la antropología, la lingüística y más recientemente en la educación. Finalmente, presentaremos un cuadro comparativo entre el modelo positivista y el hermenéutico. 117-136 Semestral The following article must like intention present/display for the reflection and discussion, part of the results of a
documentary investigation made around the positivism paradigm of investigation in social sciences, its main characteristics,
its ontological, epistemological and methodological aspects, as well as the critics that at the beginning of century XX
arose against this perspective, from writings of the social investigators Wilhelm Dilthey and Max Weber. In this sense, we
will show the efforts made by both authors to elaborate a more suitable method for the study of the society, known like
hermeneutics, that throughout century XX obtained a great number of followers in the different social disciplines,
fundamentally in sociology, the anthropology, the linguistic one and more recently in the education. Finally, we will
present/display a comparative picture between the positivism model and the hermeneutics.
