| dc.description | Esta tese objetiva investigar a variação na ordem e no preenchimento do sujeito em construções inacusativas, verificando qual é o estatuto dessas construções, a partir de um corpus composto por jornais que circularam na primeira metade do século XIX e na primeira e segunda metade do século XX nas cidades de Lages e Florianópolis, no Estado de Santa Catarina, Brasil. O corpus utilizado na pesquisa faz parte do projeto Para a História do Português Brasileiro de Santa Catarina (PHPB-SC). A ordem e o preenchimento do sujeito têm sido objeto de estudo de diversos trabalhos desde o final da década de 1980. Muitos desses estudos mostraram que a diminuição do uso de sujeito nulo no século XX em relação ao século XIX no português brasileiro (PB) acontece paralelamente à diminuição do número de ocorrências na ordem do sujeito posposto ao verbo (VDP) nesse mesmo período, sendo a posposição do DP favorecida em contextos inacusativos. Segundo Coelho (2000), a ordem verbo-sujeito em construções inacusativas está associada a uma restrição sintático-semântica ligada à natureza do verbo, que é estabelecida na relação entre o verbo inacusativo e seu argumento interno. A análise desenvolvida nesta pesquisa investiga o estatuto teórico das construções inacusativas, tomando como base para sua classificação a proposta apresentada por Ciríaco e Cançado (2004), que classifica os verbos intransitivos em verbos inacusativos e inergativos, de acordo com uma escala de prototipicidade baseada nas propriedades semânticas e sintáticas desses verbos. Esta pesquisa está baseada nos pressupostos teóricos da Sociolinguística Histórica (cf. LABOV, 1994; CONDE SILVESTRE, 2007). Os resultados quantitativos da pesquisa mostram que ocorre diminuição da ordem VDP e de sujeito nulo ao longo do tempo e que os fatores internos que condicionam a ordem e o preenchimento do sujeito diferem em cada período. | |
| dc.description | Abstract : This work tackles to investigate the variation in order and the filling of subject in unaccusative constructions, verifying what is the status of these constructions, from a corpus composed by newspapers that circulated in the first half of the 19th century and in the first and second halves of the 20th century in the municipalities of Lages and Florianópolis, in the State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The corpus used in this research belongs to the project Para a História do Português Brasileiro de Santa Catarina (PHPB-SC). The order and the filling of the subject have been object of study of a number of works since the late 80?s of 20th century. A number of these studies have shown that the decrease in the use of null subject in the 20th century, when compared to 19th century in Brazilian Portuguese (BP), comes in parallel to the decrease in the number of occurrences in subject postponed to verb order (VDP) in the same time frame, being the postponement of DP favored in unaccusative contexts. According to Coelho (2000), the order verb-subject in unaccusative construction is associated to a syntactic-semantic restriction due to the nature of the verb, which is established in the relation between the unaccusative verb and its internal argument. The analysis developed in this research investigates the theoretical status of unaccusative constructions, taking as a basis for its classification the proposal presented by Ciríaco e Cançado (2004), which classifies the intransitive verbs in unaccusative and unergative, according to a prototyping scale based in the semantic and syntactic properties of these verbs. This research is based in the theoretical assumptions of Historical Sociolinguistics (cf. LABOV, 1994; CONDE SILVESTRE, 2007). The quantitative results of this research show that there is a reduction in VDP order and of null subject over time and that the internal factors that condition the order and filling of the subject vary in each time frame. | |
