Professionals´ perceptions of the implementation of the nutritional intervention at the Chilean Maternal and Infant Nutrition Cohort Study

In recent years obesity and associated non-communicable diseases including
cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes have become the leading causes of
morbidity and mortality worldwide [1]. From taxes on sugary-sweetened beverages to
diet and exercise interventions, a variety of tools have been implemented to combat this
twenty-first century epidemic. Many of these diet and exercise interventions target
pregnant women in particular due to the added benefits of improving fetal health
outcomes and higher rates of success as compared to interventions among obese
adults
