The paper focuses on the analysis of the productivity of the main production factors: labor, capital, energy and also the processes directly managed by the airlines. It measures the operational productivity and its explanatory variables during the post-deregulation period, as well as its impacts on the economic performance of brazilian airlines. The research demonstrated that although the brazilian carries have gotten expressive productivity in the analyzed period (+29% between 1995-2002), its economical and financial performance contracts with the productivity gains results of the research can be used to improve the performance of the brazilian airlines
