Resumen
The invention relates to a sorbent means for the selective removal of pollutants from water. The sorbent means consists of a residual acrylic substrate material covered with iron oxides having ferromagnetic characteristics. The metal oxides are generated by means of an oxidation heat treatment. The invention also relates to the process for preparing the sorbent product, involving the mixture of metal oxides and residue material in the presence of an organic solvent. The product of the mixture generates a thick paste that is left to dry in order to then grind and sift the useful fraction having a particle size of between 0.425 and 1.0 mm. It is then washed with deionised water in order to remove the excess of iron salts.
