Cotton is an ancient crop of the world; It comprises many species of Gossypium (Malvaceae), which fibers are obtained great industrial importance. There are no studies about germination characteristics of the different varieties and morphological characteristics of fruit .Thence the objective was to determine this. The vegetal material comes from San Benito district -Cajamarca. The experimental phase was developed in the Laboratory of Physiology and Cultivation of Tissues Vegetables of the National University of Trujillo. A statistical design was completely randomized, 5 replicates per treatment were used by test . It was found the brown variety showed a 92 % of germination ,74.67% of emergency , 83.24% of germination energy and a viability of 80%, to difference the rest of varieties whose values were lower. Addition presented a greater number of locules (3.1) and seeds acorn (21.7). While the variety of green fiber was the only one who showed hairiness strongly adhered to the seed coat . It concludes that the variety of brown presented, respect the other varieties, the highest values of germination characters and as many locules and seeds for acorn. Actualmente no existen estudios relacionados con características germinativas de las diferentes variedades que forman fibra de color, así como de los caracteres morfológicos del fruto. De allí que se tomaron como los objetivos del presente trabajo .El material vegetal procedió de San Benito - Cajamarca, la fase experimental se desarrolló en el Laboratorio de Fisiología y Cultivos de Tejidos Vegetales de la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo. Se utilizó un diseño estadístico completamente al azar, con 5 repeticiones por tratamiento. Se estimó el índice de Czabator y se evalúo la viabilidad . En lo que respecta a las características germinativas se encontró que la variedad marrón evidenció un 92 % de germinación, 74.64 % de emergencia, 83.24 % de energía germinativa y una viabilidad del 80%, a diferencia del resto de variedades cuyos valores fueron menores . Además presentó un mayor número de lóculos (3.1) y semillas por bellota (21.7) . Se concluye que la variedad de fibra marrón presentó , respecto al resto de variedades , los valores más altos de caracteres germinativos y el mayor número de lóculos y semilla por bellota.
