Licenciado en Educación y Letras Inglesas In this research the reader can find information about how to make students speak English during lessons. However, this work is based on a certain class in a certain school located in Santiago.
This study has developed in order to make the reader understand why English as a foreign language is difficult for these students and what activities I can implement to deal with a similar context. All the strategies and examples are for students who have never talked in English before. For this reason, since students are not used to speak English in class, but reproducing isolated words only, without a context, they have not achieved a higher level of speaking skills.
The methodology used is according to the action research model, which makes teachers to reflect classes and how to improve it. Also, it is supported by two-week class observation, two questionnaires and journals that provided me a base to state my research objectives and a product.
