Resumen
The purpose of this article is to describe an outreach program based on the engineering design of a robotic musical instrument aimed to the segment of the population not served by traditional academic initiatives or outreach programs. It aims to contribute to develop the interest among children and youngsters in pursuing scientific and technology careers and also mitigating science illiteracy among the general public. The program consists in a keynote showing the various phases undertaken, people involved and the knowledge and skills needed to build the robotic musical instrument. The concepts of teamwork, consulting and multidisciplinarity are also examined. The presentation includes a musical performance. 9 2 251 263
