Resumen
This paper aims to show the importance of venture capital for the arising of new high technology enterprises, taking as an exemple the american biofuel startups, considering that The United States has one of the most developed venture capital systems. The paper intends to show which enterprises are involved in the finding of the biofuels startups and how they act, highlighting in how many startups they invest, which are the main investors and if there is some kind of specialization. Through literature review and network analysis, using the Pajek software, and taking each startup and venture capital as a node, it was possible to reveal that venture capital has an intense participation in biofuels startups, being an importante source of funding, with several investment firms, each of which presents few biofuel startups in its portfolio, with no significant specialization in any venture capital firm in this segment, even those oriented to environment friendly technology financing. 12 25 91 110
