Os interesses econômicos prevaleceram sobre os interesses socioambientais e como consequência vários fenômenos se intensificaram, dentre eles ocorrência de inundações e a exposição da população a esse fenômeno, ao risco Abstract: Anápolis, located in the state of Goiás (Brazil), is a city that presents a great economic dynamism, which historically is linked to a commercial warehouse tradition that was enhanced by external and internal factors, among which the Goyas railroad, of the National Agricultural Colony of Goiás, as transfers from the state and federal capital to areas near Anápolis, implantation of the Agroindustrial District, among others. Its natural site is characterized by a soft-wavy relief and an original urban plant of Anápolis was born and grew on the banks of the river Antas and its tributaries, in the high watershed of the Antas river. The predominant types of soils are the Latosols, being that at its top prevails lateritic "cangas", which has a function of giving geotechnical stability to the materials, besides contributing to an exfiltration and consequent emergence of many perennial drainage channels that dissect the urban space of Anápolis, with which the population needs to live together. The strong increase in the population and expressive population has increased the urban wickedness of Anápolis in the last decades, led to a significant increase of both high and low income landings, and has impressed the urban landscape with profound transformations in road infrastructure, drainage canalization and the opening of lotings where as slopes were modified and as lateritic "cangas" removed from the top of the soil. Such modifications led to a significant increase of sediments that were transported from the slopes to urban drainage, in addition to the increase in the number of linear erosive process, especially during the rainy season. These changes directly influenced the intensification and production of urban inundations. It should be noted that the urban occupation of the high basin of this river began in the nineteenth century, intensified in the twentieth century and consolidated in the twenty-first century and that the population growth generated by the intense economic activity has potentiated a significant growth of the urban network, leading to occupation inundation risk areas. In this way, we can point out a close relationship between the production of the urban space and the rich socio-environmental ones. Considering this context, the objective of this academic work was to understand the inundation in the urban space of Anápolis from the inseparable relation between society and nature in the process of occupation of its urban space. To achieve this objective, bibliographical and documentary researches were carried out, cartographic documents analysis and aerial photographs of various dates, compilation of photographic records of the area, data collection, interviews, among others. As a result, in relation to the natural site, occupation occurred from the terraces to the slopes until reaching the tops, higher portions of the relief and the plains were occupied after the 1970s due to the appreciation of central areas and other factors. In relation to the inundations, the characteristics and properties of the urban site of Anápolis, which under the new logic of urbanization and the production of urban infrastructures, ends up collapsing and whose result is the generation and intensification of processes. Added to this are the infrastructure works, be they by the state or the city, which instead of aiding in prevention, instead, dynamize and intensify the processes that destabilize the natural site and thus generating a vicious cycle in the system ad eternum. In this context, it is evident that economic dynamism, the result of several factors, including public politics, has promoted urban and population growth, as well as social and environmental problems. Economic interests prevailed over socio-environmental interests and as a consequence several phenomena intensified, among them the occurrence of inundations and the exposure of the population to this phenomenon, to risk Doutorado Análise Ambiental e Dinâmica Territorial Doutora em Geografia
