Our objective with this research was to know how the students of a Pedagogy Course understand and undertake the learning evaluation and also to verify if there are tension focuses in these undertakings. We realized a study of theoretic and empiric nature, using semi-structuralized interview as inquiry technique. We¿ve evidenced that the conception of the college students of Pedagogy Course about evaluation becomes related directly to the work that they develops in the interior of the classroom, in a perspective that surpasses the classificatory evaluation, a typical instrument of the traditional education conception, in which the note determines the level of students learning. During the research, the subjects restricts to understand the evaluation justly as an including process that implies a critical reflection on the practical and, therefore, they not explicit a more sociological perspective of the evaluation. The majority of the searched subjects pointed the present contradiction between the evaluative theory and the practice undertaken as one of the great formation problems. When they denounced this contradiction, they points to the superficiality of this quarrel in the relation with the objectives of the institution and with the objectives of teaching. The study evidences the necessity of the self-organization understanding as important principle for the critical conscience formation of the students; the reflection on the pedagogical work of the institution organization; the understanding of the relation evaluation/formation as basic category that conceives the school not only as local of information transmission, but as local that it must guarantee the access to the scientific knowledge, which is necessary to the social and political participation an as resistance to the educational/social exclusion Mestrado Ensino, Avaliação e Formação de Professores Mestre em Educação
