dc.descriptionAbstract: The use of sequencing batch reactors (SBR) has increased in many countries because of the operational simplicity and the automation possibilities. An operational strategy flexibility allowed nutrients removal (N and P), absortion of volumetric and/or organics load picks, sludge low production and high efficiency of organics compounds. SBR is more economic for building and operation than conventional activated sludges systems. Nevertheless, the SBR system lacks of mathematical parameters and models definition. The present work analysed the kinetic coefficients of aerobic digestion in continuos flow activated sludge. A methodology for the determination of kinetic coefficients for intermitent flow activated sludge, using the sludge age, was tested. The kinetic coefficients were determined for both biologic reactors using chemical painting wastewater.
