Resumen
The belting singing technique from American and British musical theater was being introduced in Brazil in the early 1990s due to the large number of Broadway's musical titles versioned into Portuguese. Objective: To analyze the belting technique between Portuguese-speaking singers, identifying factors associated with its use in versions. Methods: Analysis of voice adjustments used, and semi-structured questionnaires with teachers and performers of the scene of musical theatre in Sao Paulo in the last decade. Conclusions: The use of the technique guided by qualified teachers, coupled with the ongoing study through vocal exercises, ensures the "Broadway sound" with healthy issue, intelligible and adapted to our language. 15 1
