Resumen
Comprehensive discussions in scientific literature on the relationship between health professionals teams and renal patients present some particularities regarding professional background and the health care provided. In this paper we have analyzed the kind of care health professionals provide and their interpersonal relationships from the point of view of patients undergoing hemodialysis. Interviews were made using a clinical-qualitative method, consisting of semistructured interviews with seven patients in a hemodialysis unit, who were chosen through an intentional sampling. The data selected were assessed on a thematic content analysis. We have found that patients wish the health care team would listen to their concerns more carefully, which go beyond physical aspects. The clinical care provided has proved to be more focused on biological aspects of patients and on mechanical procedures, showing a considerable degree of carelessness about how human relationships and technical competency differ. 56 508-12
