dc.description | In this work we consider the blow-up of solutions of the Cauchy problem for a generalized Boussinesq equation. Our main result shows that for initial data satisfying certain hypotheses, the corresponding solution blows-up in H-1-norm. Our proof relies on the method of concentration-compactness combined with general methods for studying the blow-up of hyperbolic nonlinear equations. | |
