We propose a novel dual-band radio frequency identification (RFID) microstrip antenna that has a similar performance in dual bands that can be independently tuned. The return loss of the dual-band antenna is less than -10 dB between 890 and 965 MHz and 2.33 and 2.51 GHz. The simplicity of this microstrip dual band antenna layout makes it particularly suitable for low-cost RFID production. (C) 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
