Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) In this paper, we study multiplicity of weak solutions for the following class of quasilinear elliptic problems of the form -Delta(p)u - Delta u = g(u) - lambda vertical bar u vertical bar(q-2)u in Omega with u = 0 on partial derivative Omega, where Omega is a bounded domain in R(n) with smooth boundary partial derivative Omega, 1 < q < 2 < p <= n, lambda is a real parameter, Delta(p)u = div(vertical bar del u vertical bar(p-2)del u) is the p-Laplacian and the nonlinearity g(u) has subcritical growth.
