The complete C-13 NMR analysis of 3-substituted camphors with F, Cl, Br, I, OH, OMe, SMe, NHMe, NMe2 and Me substituents at endo and exo positions, and also the corresponding 'oxo' and dichloro derivatives, were obtained by 1D and 2D NMR techniques. The resulting substituent-induced chemical shifts (SCS) for these difunctional systems show the influence of electronic and steric mechanisms. Copyright (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 39 10 643 644
