Resumen
Ultrastructural and immunocytochemical studies were carried out in the tail region of spermatids and spermatozoa of the phytophagous bugs, Acrosternum aseadum and Euchistus heros, The axoneme presented a 9+9+2 microtubule pattern and bridges occurred between axonemal microtubules 1, 5, and mitochondrial derivatives. Two paracrystalline structures, embedded in an amorphous matrix, were observed in the mitochondrial derivatives. The axonemal microtubules contained alpha, acetylated and tyrosinated tubulin. Cytoplasmic microtubules contained alpha, beta and gamma tubulin. Moreover, the gamma tubulin was detected near the electron dense rod, an element associated with the centriole, suggesting that this structure may be a microtubule organizing center. 40 41700 163 170

Tubulin-tyrosine ligase catalyzes covalent binding of 3-fluoro-tyrosine to tubulin: kinetic and [19F]NMR studies
Monasterio Opazo, Octavio; Nova, Esteban; López-Brauet, Adamari; Lagos Mónaco, Rosalba (1995)The use of 3-fluoro-tyrosine as an alternative substrate for the enzyme tubulin:tyrosine ligase which catalyzes the incorporation of tyrosine into the α-tubulin subunit was investigated. The incorporation of tyrosine into ... -
Interaction between the C-Terminal Peptides of Tubulin and Tubulin S Detected with the Fluorescent Probe 4',6-Diamidino-2-Phenylindole
Ortiz, Marco; Lagos Mónaco, Rosalba; Monasterio Opazo, Octavio (1993)The digestion of tubulin with subtilisin and the reassociation of the digestion products was followed by means of the fluorescent probe 4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI). The fluorescence spectra of DAPI bound to chicken ... -
Inhibition of Tubulin Self-Assembly and Tubulin-Colchicine GTPase Activity by Guanosine 5’-γ-Fluorotriphosphate)
Monasterio Opazo, Octavio; Timasheff, Serge N. (1987)The inhibitory effects of guanosine 5'-(ᵧ-fluorotriphosphate) [GTP(ᵧF)] on both the polymerization and the colchicine-dependent GTPase activity of calf brain tubulin have been studied. The results demonstrate that this ...
